The Illinois
State Fair will be held on the Illinois State Fairgrounds today (Thursday) with a preview night beginning at 4 pm and runs from Friday through Sunday, August 21 from 7 am - midnight each day. Admission for the preview night is $5 for adults and $2 for senior citizens aged 60+ and children 12 and under are free. Normal admission begin on Friday and is $7 for adults (ages 13 - 59), $3 for children (ages 5-12), free for children under 5), and $3 for senior citizens (ages 60 and older).

Brimfield Old Settler's
Days will take place beginning at 5:30 pm tonight (Thursday), at 5 pm on Friday & at 6:30 am on Saturday in downtown Brimfield. The Peoria Chiefs will

The Peoria Historical Society's
"Roll Out the Barrel Tour" takes you through the earliest sections of downtown Peoria and into the Warehouse District where you'll discover historical facts about distilling in Peoria on Fridays at 11 am in August. The "Naughty to Nice Tour" runs Saturdays beginning at 11 am in August tracing triumphs through time from the 1920's to the present. It entails stories of the city's gangster era, including driving by the site of
Peoria's most notorious crime scene: the Bernie Shelton murder. And the "River City Tour" which winds along Grandview Drive, takes place on Saturdays beginning at 1:30 pm in August. The Annual Hummingbird
Festival will take place at Sommer Park (located at 6329 N Koerner Rd. in Edwards) on Saturday from 9 am - 1 pm. Admission is free for all ages, however for a small donation to the Illinois Audubon land acquisition fund, participants can "adopt" a hummingbird.
