The March Madness

The Central
Illinois Regional FIRST Robotics Competition, an intense three-day event showcasing robots developed and operated by 40 teams of high school students, will take place at the Bradley Renaissance Coliseum tonight (Thursday) and continues at 8:30 am on Friday and Saturday. The competing robots are the result of 6-1/2 weeks of high school students and professional engineering/science mentors teaming up to solve the engineering challenges. Admission is free. Peoria will host a Candidate Forum for contested races for Dunlap School Board at Dunlap Valley Middle School (located at 5200 W Cedar Hills Dr. in Dunlap) tonight (Thursday) from 6:30 - 8 pm. The 37th Annual St.
Patrick's Day Parade, sponsored by the St. Patrick Society of Peoria, will take place in downtown Peoria on Friday beginning at 11 am beginning at the corner of Monroe Street and Hancock Street. A St. Patrick's Day Party will follow at the CEFCU Stage on the Peoria riverfront immediately after the parade featuring Irish cuisine, live music, festive drinks for adults and children, Irish dances and family-friendly activities. The IHSA Class 3A Semifinal
Session will be held in the Peoria Civic Center Arena on Friday with Game 1 at 11 am and Game 2 at 12:45 pm. The Class 4A Semifinal Session will also be on Friday with Game 1 beginning at 5:30 pm and Game 2 at 7:15 pm. On Saturday, the Class 3A Third Place Game will take place at 11 am and the Championship begins at 12:45 pm.
