A Nature Art
Show and Sale Open House continues at Forest Park Nature Center (located at 5809 N Forest Park Dr. in Peoria Heights) through New Year's Eve weekdays and Saturdays from 9 am - 5 pm and Sunday from 1 - 5 pm. Featuring a variety of media and unique artwork all created by local artists, items include original nature-related photographs, paintings, woodcarvings, handmade jewelry and more. Winterfest continues

Folepi's Winter
Wonderland continues through New Year's Eve at the VFW Post 2078 Park off Springfield Road (located at 123 Par 3 Lane in East Peoria). The drive-through electric park is the Festival of Lights' signature event featuring the majority of the Parade of Lights floats and many other lighted displays. Hours are 5 - 9 pm Sundays through Thursdays and 5 - 11 pm on Fridays & Saturdays. Cost is $10 for all vehicles excepts full size buses, which are $150. For more information, visit

Display continues through New Year's Eve at Luthy Botanical Garden (located at 2520 N Prospect Rd. in Peoria) featuring African plants throughout the Holiday Poinsettia Show. Enjoy a Candlelight
Walk through the Poinsettia Show at Luthy Botanical Garden (located at 2520 N. Prospect in Peoria) on Friday and Saturday from 6 - 9 pm. The walk takes you through the Poinsettia Show at night, under the warm glow of hundreds of candles, while enjoying live performances of holiday music. The Peoria Rivermen
will take on the Evansville Thunderbolts at the Peoria Civic Center Arena on Friday beginning at 7:15 pm. The 1st Annual Wiener Dog Races will take place during the intermissions featuring Trixie, the ExplorePeoria.com mascot. A New Year's Eve
Countdown will take place on Sunday at the Peoria Civic Center featuring skating from noon - 9 pm, a children's ball drop at 7 pm, a 6 foot diameter ball drop midnight, fireworks, live music from Dexter O'Neal and the Funk Yard, drinks and more. Admission to the event is free except for skating or the ice slide which is $10 including skate rental or $8 if you bring your own for ages 6 and up and $5 for ages 5 and under.
