The Vaudeville and Whiskey Revue will be presented at the Corn Stock Theatre Center (located within Bradley Park in Peoria) tonight (Thursday) through Saturday beginning at 7:30 pm each night. A fundraiser to benefit Corn Stock for Kids and other volunteer-based artistic programs, the evening includes hors d'oeuvres, whiskey tastings as well as beer and wine at the Sky Harbor cash only bar. The revue will transport audiences back 100 year to a bustling, bawdy, and growing Peoria which was famous for distilleries, breweries and Vaudeville entertainment. Featuring music written and performed by Irving Berlin, Eddie Cantor, Eva Tanguay, Fanny Brice, Sophie Tucker, George M. Cohan, George Burns and Gracie Allen, Scott Joplin, Al Jolson, Irene Franklin, Will Rogers, Bert Williams and the Ziegfeld Follies Showgirls, most of acts actually played at one or more of Peoria's thirteen historic music halls such as the Majestic, the Orpheum, the Hippodrome, Weast's or the Palace. Easter Egg Hunts will be taking place at several Peoria Park District facilities this weekend at the following facilities: a Flashlight Egg Hunt on Friday night and an Easter Egg Festival on Saturday both at the Franciscan Recreation Center in West Peoria, the Easter Egg Scramble at the Peoria Zoo on Saturday and an Easter Egg Hunt at North Trail Park in Dunlap. Bradley University will host its 4th Annual Illinois Regional College Fair in the Renaissance Coliseum (located at 1600 West Main Street in Peoria) tonight (Thursday) from 6 - 7:30 pm. High school students and their parents, as well as community college students from Peoria, Tazewell, Woodford, Fulton, Stark, Marshall, Putnam and Knox counties are encouraged to attend. The Interplanetary 5K Race, 1 Mile Fitness Walk and 1/2 Mile Kids' Fun Run will take place at Peoria Riverfront Museum on Saturday beginning at 9 am. Walk or run through portions of the Central Illinois Community Solar System, the world's most complete large scale model of the Solar System. Participants will follow the routes of interplanetary explorers from the Sun, past Mercury, Venus and Earth to Mars and back along the Riverfront Trail.
