Easter Egg Hunts will take place this weekend at the following Peoria Park District facilities: an Underwater Easter Egg Hunt at the Peoria Riverplex, an Easter Egg Hunt at North Trail Park in Dunlap and a Doggie Easter Egg Hunt at Camp Wokanda all on Saturday. Peorians who Changed the World: A Panel Discussion will take place in the Peoria Riverfront Museum Giant Screen Theater tonight (Thursday) beginning at 6 pm. A special panel discussion about Peorians who changed the way people think and advanced society globally - from Betty Friedan to Richard Pryor - by the journalists who interviewed and covered them, local journalists have been on the beat through the years as the ultimate daily keepers of our Peoria area history. Moderated by Journal Star Executive Editor, Dennis Anderson, the event will include a Q & A on these world-changing Peorians. Admission is free. The City of Peoria will hold a Public Meeting for the Allen Road & Willow Knolls Road Intersection Project at Church of the Christ Northwest (located at 7722 N Allen Rd. in Peoria) tonight (Thursday) beginning at 6 pm. The public is invited to view project details and give their feedback on potential design configurations, including a roundabout option and a conventional signaled intersection option. The project is scheduled to begin this summer and is a partnership between the City of Peoria and Peoria County to reconstruct an aging intersection that more than 32,000 vehicles use daily. Pekin First Nazarene (located at 3514 Broadway Road in Pekin) will present the 25th Annual Pekin Passion Play tonight (Thursday) and Friday at 7 pm and Sunday at 10 am. A Giant Easter Egg Hunt & Bunny Breakfast will take place on Saturday with the Bunny Breakfast from 8 - 11 am and Egg Hunts at 10 am, 11:30 am and at 1 pm. Featuring a buffet style meal with pancakes, sausage and more, the cost for the breakfast is $12.95 for adults, $9.95 for kids aged 3 - 12 and free for ages 2 & under (this does not include admission to the park). Reservations are required and may be made by calling 309-676-0998. Admission to the Park is $5 for members of all ages, $10 for ages 13 & up and $8 for ages 3 - 12. A Bunny Breakfast and & Easter Egg Hunt will take place at Five Points Washington (located at 360 N. Wilmor Rd. in Washington) on Saturday from 9 - 10:45 am for the Breakfast and at 11 am for the Hunt with 3 age divisions at the Rotary Shelter in Washington Park. The Easter Bunny will be on hand for pictures (bring your own camera). Cost for the continental breakfast is $5 and registration is available at www.washingtonparkdistrict.com
An Underwater Easter Egg Hunt will take place at the Peoria RiverPlex in downtown Peoria) on Saturday beginning at 9 am. Participants must pre-register and bring their own basket. Geared toward children ages 3 to 8, children ages 3-5 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian into the pool. Admission is $5 for Peoria residents and $7 for non-residents. A Doggie Easter Egg Hunt will take place at Camp Wokanda (located at 620 Boy Scout Road in Chillicothe) on Saturday from 1 - 3 pm. With a hunt for small and large breeds plus a costume contest with prizes and activities for the whole family, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to local animal shelters. An Easter Egg Hunt will take place at Northtrail Park (located at 1621 W. Meadowbrook Dr. in Dunlap) on Saturday at Noon (rescheduled from last Saturday due to weather). For kids 10 and under, the cost is $4 per child and registration is required. For registration and more information, visit www.peoriaparks.org
A Pajama Jam will take place at the Bonnie Noble Center (located at 1125 W Lake Ave. in Peoria) on Saturday from 4:30 - 7:30 pm. A parent free event for children 3-7, kids should wear pajamas and bring their favorite cuddly toy to snuggle up with to enjoy crafts, dance and sing. Parents should pack a dinner and popcorn will be served as a snack. Cost is $25 per child.  Spaces are limited and registration is available at www.facebook.com/KMbySingOutStudios 
Barrack's Cater Inn (located at 1224 W Pioneer Parkway in Peoria) will host an Easter Brunch on Sunday from 9:45 am - 3 pm. Featuring prime rib, honey-baked ham, chicken, shrimp, omelets, Waffles, pastries, assorted salads, vegetables, potatoes, a dessert table with a chocolate dipping fountain and more.
