The 10th Annual Fundraiser for St. Jude will be held at Barrack's Cater Inn (located at 1224 W. Pioneer Pkwy. in Peoria) tonight (Thursday) from 5 - 7:30 pm. Featuring a silent auction, door prize items and a dinner buffet with salad, several types of pasta, pizza, and an ice cream buffet, cost is $12, $6 for ages 6 - 16 or free for ages under 5. An informational meeting about CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) will take place at the Washington Public Library (located at 380 N Wilmor Rd. in Washington) tonight (Thursday) from 5:30 - 7 pm. CASA is expanding services to the full Tenth Judicial Circuit and needs volunteers to assist with court advocacy for more than 1,000 abused and neglected children. The Annual Fireworks Spectacular at Glen Oak Amphitheatre (located in Glen Oak Park in Peoria) will take place on Tuesday from Noon - 10 pm with live entertainment and fireworks. The all day family fun includes $3 admission to Peoria Zoo and Peoria PlayHouse Children's Museum between Noon - 5 pm, food trucks will be available and starting at 4 pm. Enjoy performances by the Children's Community Theater, JC and the Redemption and the Peoria Municipal Band, with a special presentation by the American Legion & Color Guard.
