The Peoria Art Guild's 56th Annual Fine Art Fair will take place on the Peoria Riverfront on Friday from 6 - 10 pm, Saturday from 10 am - 5 pm & Sunday from 10 am - 3 pm. Featuring works of over 130 juried fine artists from across the US, also find an interactive community mural, a mobile pottery studio, a Kid's Art Festival where kids can create their own masterpieces (admission for this area is $5 per child) plus food, beer and wine. Admission is $10 on Friday evening with 1/2 price admission for police, fire, military personnel and veterans, $5 for one day or $7 for the weekend or free for children 12 years and under and Peoria Art Guild members. Good News will be presented by Corn Stock for Kids (located in upper Bradley Park) beginning at 7:30 pm on Friday and at 2:30 pm on Saturday and Sunday as well as Thursday & Friday, October 4 & 5 at 7:30 pm and Saturday, October 6 at 2:30 pm. Learn about Peoria's rich history as the Peoria Historical Society's River City Tour winds along Grandview Drive leaving from Exhibit A Gallery (located at 4607 N Prospect Rd. in Peoria Heights) every Friday in September beginning at 11:30 am. Their Naughty to Nice History Tour traces some of Peoria's colorful past during the 1920's, including the site of the Bernie Shelton murder running every Saturday in September at 11:30 am.  And their Roll Out the Barrel Tour takes you through the earliest sections of downtown Peoria and into the Warehouse District where you'll discover facts about distilling in Peoria running every Saturday in September at 1:30 pm.  Cost for each tour is $15. Featuring the exhibit, Survivors 2018, a unique art exhibit featuring the works of local artist, Theresa McDade, if you make a donation to the Komen Memorial, you'll receive a card that you show at participating Paint the Heights Pink restaurants who will donate 10% of your check that night plus every Wednesday in October. The Running With The Dogs 5K will take place at Junction City Shopping Center (located at 5901 N Prospect Rd. in Peoria) on Saturday beginning at 8 am. Peoria's only race where you can participate with your dog, cost is $30 for ages 13+ or free for ages 12 & under for both the 5k run and 3k walk. All money raised benefits Paws Giving Independence, an all-volunteer organization that rescues shelter dogs, trains them to be service dogs & then places them as service dogs free to the recipients.
