Tale of The Anklets, a mega dance musical, will be presented at Five Points Performing Arts Center (located at 360 N Wilmor Rd. in Washington) on Saturday beginning at 7 pm. Benefiting the Center for Prevention of Abuse (CFPA), the show will feature more than 120 local and national dancers in a variety of Indian dance styles, including classical, folk, Bollywood and contemporary plus fusion dance styles with Chinese, Middle Eastern and traditional ballet. Dancers are students at Mythili Dance Academy, Central Illinois Ballet, Springfield Chinese Association, Peoria Chinese Association and Zakira's Mediterranean Dance Academy in Dallas. Steel Magnolias will be presented at Peoria Players Theatre (located at 4300 N University St. in Peoria) on Friday & Saturday at 7:30 pm and Sunday at 2 pm as well as Thursday through Saturday, October 11 - 13 at 7:30 pm and Sunday, October 14 at 2:30 pm. Good News by Corn Stock for Kids (located in upper Bradley Park) continues tonight and Friday at 7:30 pm at 2:30 pm on Saturday at the Corn Stock Theatre center in upper Bradley park in Peoria. Set on a college campus in the 1920's, it's packed with energy, dance, comedy and carefree existence of young people coming of age between the Great War and the Great Depression. Learn about Peoria's rich history as the Peoria Historical Society's Grandview Drive & Springdale Cemetery Tour takes you to view spectacular views of the river from the world's most beautiful drive while seeing elegant homes of past and present Peorians then continues to the oldest chartered cemetery in the state of Illinois running every Friday in October at 11:30 am. The tour departs from the Exhibit A Gallery (located at 4607 N Prospect Rd. in Peoria Heights).  Their Haunted Peoria Tour is where you'll discover the stories behind the ghostly appearances that have startled and puzzled Peorians through the years. Learn about the Lady in White, the Legend of Nee-Nee-Wah, the Curse of Old Lady Gray, and more. Running every Saturday in October at 11:30 am and at 1:30 pm, the tours leave from the CAT Visitors Center in downtown Peoria.  The cost for each tour is $15 and seating is extremely limited. The 2019 Upper Great Lakes Regional Figure Skating Championships continues at the Peoria Civic Center and Owens Center through Sunday. Hosted by the Heart of Illinois Skating Club, the top 4 skaters at the Juvenile through Senior levels qualify to compete in November at the Midwestern Sectional Championship where the top four skaters at each level advance to the 2019 U.S. Figure Skating National Championships.
