A Veterans Art Exhibit
is on display through January 30th at the Peoria Public Library in downtown Peoria daily from 9 am - 6 pm. View a wide range of artistic expression, all created by area veterans. Some were artists before they served, while others are using art to understand their military experience. Organized by 22VA, a group of veteran artists who help other veterans express themselves through visual and creative arts. Their goal is to reduce the number of veteran suicides which claim the lives of 22 veterans

An Adoption Open House for those
interested in learning about adopting will be held at FamilyCore (located at 330 SW Washington St. in Peoria) tonight (Thursday) from 4 - 6 pm. A Chicken & Noodle Dinner

Play for Kid's Sake will take place
at the Shoppes of Grand Prairie from 2 - 11 pm on Friday, 8 am - 11 pm on Saturday and 8 am - 4 pm on Sunday. A 3-day tabletop game convention to benefit the Heart of Illinois Big Brothers Big Sisters, attendees can learn and play from hundreds of the best board games on the market plus compete in tournaments, miniature games, role playing games and card games. Cost to participate varies from $15 - $40 and registration along with more information is available 
Live at the Five Spot at the Contemporary Art
Center will feature Nathan Taylor & Friends on Friday from 5:30 - 8:30 pm. Admission is $8 for members, $12 for non-members, $7 for student & senior members and $11 for student & senior non-members.

Whiskey at the Warehouse will take
place at the Warehouse on State (located at 736 SW Washington St. in Peoria) on Friday from 5:30 - 8 pm. The Swing is Back Dance

A Lunar Eclipse Viewing Party will take place at
the Riverfront Museum Dome Planetarium on Sunday from 9:30 - 11:45 pm. The moon will be moving through the Earth's shadow causing it to appear to phase strangely and glow orange-red. View the moon through telescopes, enjoy moon-themed shows and activities plus astronomy experts will be on hand to answer questions. Please note: the event is weather dependent and may be cancelled due to clouds. Admission is free for members or $4 per person and $6 for the public available at the door.
