The 3rd Annual Peoria Sister Cities International Night will take place at the Itoo Hall (located at 4909 W. Farmington Road in Peoria) on Friday beginning at 5 pm. Featuring foods from all 4 Sister Cities: Friends of Friedrichshafen, Friends of Benxi, Friends of Clonmel and Friends of Aytou, there will also be cash bar including an International Flight of Beers for $6, a raffle for prizes valued at $500 each plus live music representing the various cultures. American Decoy: The Invention continues at the Riverfront Museum through Sunday. Featuring iconic decoys by famous American artists, many of whom lived in central Illinois along the Illinois River, including Charles H. Perdew (Henry), Charles Schoenheider Sr. (Peoria) and Robert Elliston (Bureau), it is a nationally significant art exhibition celebrating the uniquely American art form with decoys from the museum's permanent collection. Medical Inventions That Changed the World continues at the Peoria Riverfront Museum. Featuring the stories of pioneers in medicine - from the use of radiation to the invention of mass production of penicillin which was invented in the early 1940s at Peoria's Ag Lab plus recent breakthroughs in virtual technologies and simulation - that have saved lives, cured diseases and made life better for billions of people worldwide, this first-of-its-kind exhibition runs through Sunday. The 2019 Gerald M. Brookhart Arts In Education Spring Celebration continues at the Peoria County Courthouse Plaza from 11 am - 1:30 pm on Friday and weekdays through May 17. The 27th Annual Peoria Jaycees International Beer Festival begins on Friday at Peoria Dozer Park in downtown Peoria from 6 - 10 pm. On Sunday evening beginning at 5:30 pm, dinner will take place at Contemporary Art Center of Peoria (located at 305 Southwest Water Street in Peoria) featuring keynote speaker and sustainability advocate Hannah Testa.
