Catch Me If You Can continues at the Corn Stock Theatre Tent (located in upper Bradley Park) tonight (Thursday) through Saturday at 7:30 pm each night. The first-time this show has been presented in the area, it's based on the book and movie starring Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio telling the incredible true story of con man Frank Abagnale. The show takes place in the 60's and the music was written by the composers of Hairspray the musical and was nominated for four Tony awards. The Peoria Blues & Heritage Music Festival will take place at the Peoria Riverfront beginning at 5 pm on Friday and at 11:30 am on Saturday. The Peoria Historical Society's Grandview Drive and Springdale Cemetery Bus Tour departs from Exhibit A Gallery (located at 4607 Prospect Rd in Peoria Heights) every Friday in August at 11:30 am. The 48-Hour Filmmakers Fest will take place on Friday beginning at 5 pm via the Peoria Riverfront Museum where the theme, a line of dialogue and an object that must be included in each submission will be emailed to all who have registered to participate. The Festival is a competition that gives aspiring filmmakers of all ages the chance to create a 3-5-minute movie in just 48 hours including writing, editing and sound design. Each film must be produced between Friday and Sunday. Once the films are submitted, they will be viewed by a panel of judges including Academy Award-Winning Director and Peoria native, Aaron Schneider, who will determine the overall winner and runner-up.
