Disney's Newsies will be presented at the Eastlight Theatre (located at 2200 E Washington St in East Peoria) at 7:30 pm on Friday and Saturday and at 2 pm on Sunday. Winner of 3 Tony Awards, it's the tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a ragged band of teenaged 'newsies,' who dreams only of a better life far from the hardship of the streets. The Robber Bridegroom will be presented at the Corn Stock Theatre Tent (located in upper Bradley Park) beginning at 7:30 pm nightly Friday through Sunday. Based upon a fairy tale, the story takes place in the late 1700's in Mississippi with a live bluegrass band on stage accompanying the vocalists. GI Jukebox continues at the Barn III Dinner Theatre in Goodfield and running Thursdays - Sundays through August 11. The Illinois Shakespeare Festival continues with As You Like It at Ewing Theatre (located at 48 Sunset Rd in Bloomington) tonight (Thursday) at 7:30 pm and Saturday at 8 pm and Pride and Prejudice on Friday at 8 pm.
