Moon is now open at the Peoria Riverfront Museum and runs through November 10. It features a one-of-a-kind 13-foot (4-meter) diameter illuminated moon made especially for the museum by UK artist Luke Jerram. Lit from within, the giant moon displays exacting 120-dpi detailed imagery of the lunar surface created by NASA imagery. In addition, there are many interesting
objects from NASA and space-related artifacts from NASA and the Apollo missions including a space suit, a piece of the Apollo 11 heat shield, a lunar meteorite plus an original 1700s Cassini map (lent from the Adler Planetarium).
