Peoria Historical Society Roots of the River City Tour is Saturday
 
Hear an overview of Peoria history from its earliest days as a French fur trading outpost in the late 1600s, learn about the Native Americans and French who also greatly influenced the area and how Peoria became the whiskey and earthmoving capital of the world.

Enjoy the band's groove-driven funk and R&B, retro 80’s tunes and island jams. Bring lawn chairs along with your own food, however no outside beverages of any kind. Wine, beer, sodas, bottled tea, water, pizzas, cheese & crackers, and chocolates will be available to purchase.
 
 
 
 
 
 
The Dome Planetarium Turns 60
 
The day will include space-themed activities in the museum lobby, a cake cutting, a new planetarium show "Space Knowledge in 1963 vs. Today" plus the movie Apollo 11: First Steps in the Giant Screen Theater to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Peoria's Dome Planetarium.
 
 
 
 
 
 
The Westminster Presbyterian Church Summer Choir Camp is June 26 - 30
 
The Annual Camp will be conducted by Sharon Samuels Reed.  Designed for students in grades 2 – 6, there will also be visual arts instruction by a local painter and sculptor plus a daily snack pack sent home with each camper.
 
 
 
 
The Heritage Ensemble Presents their Juneteenth Concert on Saturday
 
The American celebration will include spirituals to Broadway songs taking place at the Illinois Central College Performing Arts Center.
 
 
 
 
The 56th Annual Itoo Society Shish-Ka-Bob is June 24 & 25
 
Enjoy a chicken or beef shish-ka-bob, cabbage rolls, salad, bread and baklawa for dessert available for dine-in or carryout.  Preorders are being offered for carry outs.  This year, there will be live music by the Outsiders on Saturday evening.
