The Flying D'rito Brothers will perform Sky Harbor Steakhouse tonight (Thursday) for 2 hours of originals plus covers from 7 - 9 pm, followed by an open jam session. Band members Darren Peacock, Chris Diepenbrock and Tom Abbot will be joined by original founding member Daryl Klusendorf. Hayrides and Hotdogs will take place at Sommer Park tonight (Thursday) from 5 - 7 pm. Come on out and have an old-fashioned good time. Hayrack ride, mid-1800s Autumn Playparty activities (sack races, fortune telling) and musical entertainment are also included. Peoria Theater will present the Halloween Double Feature "Into the Woods" and "Before the Storm" for a one-night engagement Friday night that will also feature the short film "The Design". The Richwoods High School Interact Club will host "Halloween Knight" for children in grades Pre-K through 4th grade at the school on Friday from 6 - 8 pm. Admission is two canned goods or two gently used clothing items.  There will be many activities for the kids to take part in such as SAFE Trick-or-Treating with Interact leaders at RHS classroom doors, a maze, pin-the-nose-on-the-jack-o-lantern, make monster hands, face painting, plus visit a spooky room. So much to do to prepare for Halloween! Kids are encouraged to come to the event in costume.
Walk a Mile in My Shoes, a walk to raise awareness of Domestic Violence, will take place on Saturday with registration beginning at 8 am just prior to the Women's Lifestyle Show at the Peoria Civic Center. Put on your favorite costume and bring a bag to gather all you goodies for Trick or Treating at Northwoods Mall on Sunday from 3 - 5 pm. All ages are invited, however, ages 13 and older cannot wear masks, There is no charge to trick or treat.
Award Winning Children's Recording Artist Julie K will perform on Sunday at Northwoods Community Church, 10700 N. Allen Road beginning at 3:30 pm. Admission is one canned food item to be donated to the South Side Mission.
