Sky Harbor Steakhouse will host its 29th Annual Holiday Wine Party tonight (Thursday) with complimentary wine and cheese being served from 5 pm until close. Live music will be provided by Jim Taylor from 7 - 10 pm. Representatives from Kickapoo Creek Vineyards and Wirtz Beverage will also be on site to answer questions. We Need A Little More Christmas, an original Christmas revue featuring lots of seasonal music and comedy, continues at the Barn 2 Dinner Theatre in Goodfield this weekend. subUrbia, a play by Eric Bogosian and presented by the Bradley University Theatre Department at Hartmann Center for the Performing Arts continues this weekend beginning at 8 pm tonight (Thursday) through Saturday and at 2:30 pm on Sunday. Tickets for tonight's (Thursday's) show are all $7 and the rest of the performances are $14 for the general public, $12 for faculty, staff and senior citizens and $7 for students and are available at the Bradley University Theatre Box Office or by phone at 677-2650.

The Luthy Botanical Garden's Annual Poinsettia Show opens Friday and runs through Friday, December 31st. Regular Conservatory hours are Tuesday-Saturday from 10 am - 7 pm and Sundays from 12 - 5 pm. The Garden is closed on Mondays. Visit the Conservatory, where a tropical collection blends with hundreds of poinsettias to create a wonderland unmatched anywhere in Peoria. The 35th Annual Community Thanksgiving Day Luncheon will be held Friday in the Peoria Civic Center Ballroom from 11:45 am - 1:30 pm. Tickets are $45 for Chamber members and $65 for non-members. The kids will enjoy riding on Shoppe-A-Long, the giant 25 ft. rocking horse at the Shoppes at Grand Prairie this holiday season. Shoppe-A-Long seats up to 6 people comfortably and is rocked daily by local fundraising organizations: all proceeds go to those organizations. Willett's Winery & Cellar in Manito will host a Murder Mystery Dinner presented by Upstage Productions. On Sunday from 1:30 - 2 pm, Forest Park Nature Center will host Animal Encounters, which will give you a new respect for some "critters" who definitely don't fit into the cute, furry or cuddly mold, but are nonetheless some of nature's greatest creatures. Admission is free, however donations are appreciated. November's featured animals are insects & spiders.
